Expressing solidarity after Cyclone Ditwah, India announced a USD 450 million reconstruction package for Sri Lanka, including concessional Lines of Credit and grants. The assistance focuses on connectivity, housing, social infrastructure, agriculture, and disaster preparedness. Both ministers highlighted Operation Sagar Bandhu, under which India acted as first responder by delivering large-scale relief, medical aid, and deploying naval, air, and army assets. The visit also saw the joint inauguration of a Bailey Bridge in Kilinochchi, restoring vital connectivity. The talks reaffirmed India–Sri Lanka friendship, the Neighbourhood First and MAHASAGAR policies, and addressed fishermen issues and reconciliation efforts.
