CDS Gen Anil Chauhan Urges Aatmanirbhar Defense Space Ecosystem at DEFSAT 2024

Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) Gen Anil Chauhan emphasized the need for a robust Aatmanirbhar defence space ecosystem during the inauguration of DEFSAT 2024, a three-day Space Seminar & Exhibition in New Delhi.

Gen Chauhan underscored the significance of space in augmenting combat capabilities and called for industry collaboration to bolster counter-space capabilities for safeguarding national space assets. He highlighted government initiatives like Mission DefSpace 2022 and the burgeoning startup ecosystem in the space sector. The seminar, organized by CENJOWS and Satcom Industry Association – India, aims to foster coordination between civil, commercial, and defence space programs to leverage the dual-use nature of the sector.
