China and Antigua and Barbuda Strengthen Bilateral Ties with Key Agreements

Amaravati Today: Chinese Premier Li Keqiang held discussions with Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda Gaston Browne in Beijing, emphasizing the longstanding diplomatic ties between the two nations, which were established 41 years ago. Premier Li expressed China's commitment to working closely with Antigua and Barbuda to implement agreements reached by their leaders, strengthen traditional friendship, deepen strategic trust, and promote mutually beneficial cooperation across various sectors.

Both countries, being developing nations, are set to enhance their collaboration under the Belt and Road Initiative, with a focus on agriculture, infrastructure, and the green, blue, and digital economies. Premier Li also emphasized the importance of people-to-people exchanges, tourism, civil aviation, healthcare, and climate change assistance within the framework of South-South cooperation.

Prime Minister Browne expressed his gratitude for China's substantial support in Antigua and Barbuda's economic and social development. He reiterated Antigua and Barbuda's adherence to the one-China principle and pledged to promote cooperation between the Caribbean Community and China. The leaders witnessed the signing of various bilateral agreements, further solidifying their cooperation in multiple areas, including climate change, trade, transportation, and economic development.
