China and Jamaica Seek Strategic Alignment for Mutual Development

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi expressed China's desire to collaborate with Jamaica to align development strategies, broaden cooperation across various sectors, bolster people-to-people and cultural exchanges, and strengthen the foundation for China-Jamaica friendship.
During a meeting with Jamaican Prime Minister Andrew Holness and other ministers, Wang highlighted the positive historical milestones in bilateral relations, emphasizing the upgrade to a strategic partnership in 2019.
Holness praised China's consistent support for Jamaica's economic development and highlighted the country's commitment to the one-China policy. Wang conveyed President Xi's greetings, commending Jamaica's friendly policies and support for China's core interests.
The discussions also covered China's Belt and Road cooperation with Jamaica, with Wang underscoring China's willingness to share development experiences and support Jamaica's sovereignty and international role.
Holness lauded China's modernization as a high-quality development benchmark, expressing confidence in China's global leadership. The meeting aimed to deepen ties and explore avenues for mutual growth and cooperation.
