IAF, French Air Force, and UAE Air Force Showcase Interoperability in Exercise Desert Knight
The Indian Air Force (IAF) conducted Exercise Desert Knight on January 23, 2024, in collaboration with the French Air and Space Force (FASF) and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Air Force. The exercise took place at the Al Dhafra air base in the UAE and involved various aircraft from the participating nations.
The French Air and Space Force contributed Rafale fighter aircraft and a Multi-Role Tanker Transport, while the UAE Air Force deployed the F-16. The IAF contingent included Su-30 MKI, MiG-29, Jaguar, AWACS, C-130-J, and Air-to-Air Refueler aircraft, with operations conducted over the Arabian Sea and Indian FIR, utilizing Indian bases.
Exercise Desert Knight primarily aimed to enhance synergy and interoperability among the three Air Forces. The exercise facilitated the exchange of operational knowledge, experiences, and best practices among participants. It reflects the increasing diplomatic and military interactions in the region and serves as a demonstration of the IAF's capabilities.
