India's Defense Minister, Shri Rajnath Singh, highlighted the potential for cooperation between India and the United States during a conference organized by the Indo-American Chamber of Commerce in New Delhi. He emphasized that US capital and technological expertise could help India achieve its goal of becoming a developed nation by 2047. Singh also noted that India could offer US companies high returns on their investments and serve as a de-risking avenue.
Furthermore, Singh clarified that India's pursuit of 'Aatmanirbharta' (self-reliance) did not imply isolation but rather a commitment to collaborate with friendly countries for shared security and prosperity. He emphasized the strong alignment of India and the US in their support for a free, open, and rules-based international order.
The Defense Minister also highlighted the collaboration between India and the US in various fields, including defense technology and space, and how it contributes to strengthening the partnership. He emphasized that such cooperation between two major democracies would fortify the global democratic world order.
