Indonesia Calls for Full UN Membership for Palestine
The 19th Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) Summit in Kampala, Uganda saw Indonesia's Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs, Pahala Nugraha Mansury, leading the delegation and delivering a national statement.
Emphasizing the Bandung spirit of collective struggle for justice and development, Mansury called for NAM to champion global challenges, particularly supporting Palestinian independence. Indonesia urged NAM unity, ceasefire in Gaza, and peace efforts, advocating full UN membership for Palestine.
Mansury engaged with Palestine and South Africa's Foreign Ministers, backing Palestinian rights and South Africa's legal actions against Israel in the International Court of Justice.
Indonesia encouraged NAM's role in global solutions, prioritizing developing countries' interests and emphasized NAM's potential to reshape the world order for justice.
The summit, themed "Deepening Cooperation for Shared Global Affluence," gathered 121 member countries, resulting in key documents, including the NAM Political Declaration supporting peace in Palestine.
