Iranian-backed Houthi insurgents initiated six anti-ship ballistic missile (ASBM) attacks from Yemen-controlled territories toward the Southern Red Sea and Gulf of Aden. Three missiles targeted the M/V Star Nasia, a Greek-owned bulk carrier, resulting in minor damage to the vessel but no injuries.
The USS Laboon intercepted and neutralized a third missile. Meanwhile, the M/V Morning Tide, a UK-owned cargo ship, evaded three ASBM strikes in the Southern Red Sea without harm. Both ships remain operational. The assaults underscore escalating tensions in the region, with Houthi militants continuing to threaten maritime security. The attacks highlight the need for heightened vigilance and international efforts to curb such provocations.
