Japan and Singapore Strengthen Bilateral Relations in 16th Vice-Ministerial Policy Dialogue

The 16th Japan-Singapore Vice-Ministerial Policy Dialogue recently took place in Singapore. Mr. FUNAKOSHI Takehiro, Senior Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, and Mr. Albert CHUA, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Singapore, led the discussions.

The dialogue encompassed a wide spectrum of topics, with both sides engaging in discussions related to security, the economy, digital advancements, climate change, and fostering people-to-people exchanges. A key outcome of the dialogue was the commitment of Japan and Singapore to further enhance their bilateral relations, especially in light of the upcoming 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two nations in 2026.

Furthermore, the dialogue covered various regional and global issues, underscoring the importance of continued close collaboration between Japan and Singapore. This meeting reaffirmed their dedication to strengthening ties and cooperation across multiple sectors.
