New ways to search in 2024

Google is introducing two major updates for searching in 2024: Circle to Search and an AI-powered multisearch experience. Circle to Search allows users to search on their Android phone screen without switching apps. By circling, highlighting, scribbling, or tapping, users can select images, text, or videos to find information instantly.

This feature launches globally on select premium Android smartphones on January 31. The AI-powered multisearch experience enhances the Lens feature, enabling users to ask more complex questions about images. Users can point their camera, ask a question, and receive AI-powered insights beyond visual matches. Multisearch results with AI-powered overviews are available in English in the U.S. and can be accessed in the Google app for Android or iOS. The updates aim to make searching more natural and intuitive.
