Russia Proposes Free Trade Talks with Algeria, Expanding Economic Partnerships

Russia's Economic Development Minister, Maksim Reshetnikov, announced that Russia has extended an offer to Algeria for discussions on establishing a free trade zone.

Reshetnikov highlighted that the current free trade regime encompasses a market of 350 million people, emphasizing the potential benefits of such agreements. Notably, the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) has already forged free trade pacts with nations like China, Vietnam, Singapore, and Serbia.

Additionally, EAEU member states are in the process of negotiating similar agreements with Egypt, Morocco, and Tunisia. The recent signing of a comprehensive free trade agreement with Iran further underscores the EAEU's commitment to expanding economic ties beyond its borders, fostering greater cooperation and integration.
