Russian Firms See Opportunity in Accumulating Indian Rupees, Says Deputy Foreign Minister
Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Rudenko revealed in an interview with TASS that the accumulation of Indian rupees by Russian companies presents no obstacles and, in fact, expands their financial options. Rudenko emphasized the stability and reliability of the rupee, highlighting its growing use in international transactions and its suitability for investment in India's economy and regional trade partners.
He noted ongoing discussions between Russian and Indian economic agencies to broaden investment avenues for Russian firms, foreseeing promising opportunities. This sentiment aligns with Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov's earlier remarks on negotiations between Russian and Indian authorities regarding the advantageous investment of Russian exporters' rupee reserves held in Indian banks.
