South Korea Grants Individual Permits for Ferry Routes to Russia and Japan
South Korea's Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries has issued licenses for ferry services between Donghae and Vladivostok, Russia, and Donghae and Sakaiminato, Japan.
The permits allow for separate voyages following the cessation of the Eastern Dream ferry's weekly service from 2009 to 2019. The license for the Donghae-Sakaiminato route was granted on January 31, ensuring consistent operations. DuWon Shipping, the operating company, confirmed adherence to the schedule for both routes.
The ferry will depart from Donghae on Tuesdays, arrive in Vladivostok on Wednesdays, and return to South Korea on Fridays. These permits mark a renewed effort to facilitate maritime travel between South Korea, Russia, and Japan, enhancing regional connectivity.
