South Korea's Vice Minister of SMEs and Startups, OH Kee-woong, congratulated Innovation Award winners at CES 2024 and encouraged them to share insights with aspiring startups. OH detailed upcoming support measures by the Ministry to aid Korean startups in global expansion through relevant legislation and projects. Startups expressed interest in these initiatives. OH scrutinized existing startup support programs based on feedback from struggling startups.
At the K-Startup Pavilion's opening, OH expressed pride in showcasing Korean startups at CES, aiming to make Korea a global startup hub. He highlighted the ongoing promotion of the 'K-Startup' brand worldwide.
OH visited Apple's San Francisco headquarters, presenting Korean achievements at CES and discussing collaboration plans to support SMEs.
In a meeting with Google, OH explored strengthening ties with the "ChangGoo Accelerating Program" and discussed collaborative opportunities for Korean startups' overseas expansion.
