Sweden's Minister for Foreign Affairs Tobias Billström and Minister for EU Affairs Jessika Roswall briefed around 100 diplomatic representatives on Sweden's chairmanship of key forums in 2024. Sweden holds the Presidency of the Nordic Council of Ministers and coordinates the N5 and NB8 formats for Nordic and Nordic-Baltic security policy cooperation. Priorities include reinforcing security policy cooperation, supporting Ukraine regionally and globally, and addressing global challenges collectively.
The Swedish Presidency focuses on enhancing cross-border mobility and integration within the Nordic region, aiming for it to become the world's most integrated and sustainable region by 2030. Measures to eliminate barriers to mobility and promote sustainability are emphasized, aligning with the region's commitment to the green transition and social sustainability.
