Telangana CM's London Visit Sparks Promise of Reviving River Musi with Thames Authority Partnership

Chief Minister of Telangana, Sri A. Revanth Reddy, embarked on a significant visit to London to explore insights and expertise in river management from the Port of London Authority, responsible for the River Thames. The primary focus of the visit was to gather knowledge and best practices for the rejuvenation of the River Musi in Hyderabad.

During a three-hour discussion with officials and experts, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy shared his vision of revitalizing the River Musi, a vital water body for Hyderabad. He emphasized the importance of rivers and lakes in urban development and explained that once the Musi is revitalized, Hyderabad will thrive with both a river and lakes at its core.

London authorities, represented by Ms. Sian Foster and Ms. Raj Kehal-Livi, expressed alignment with the Chief Minister's vision and highlighted their commitment to sustainability for the River Thames. They emphasized their focus on revenue models, community benefits, and efficient project management.

The Port of London Authority pledged comprehensive support for Hyderabad's efforts to rejuvenate the River Musi and discussed potential partnership points. Further discussions and collaborations on specific projects are planned, promising a brighter future for Hyderabad's water bodies.
