Thailand Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Engages in Diplomatic Dialogue with Republic of Benin's Foreign Affairs Minister

During the 19th Non-Aligned Movement Summit in Kampala, Uganda, H.E. Mr. Jakkapong Sangmanee, Thailand's Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, engaged in a bilateral meeting with H.E. Mr. Olushegun Adjadi Bakari, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of the Republic of Benin.

The discussions primarily focused on development cooperation, with an emphasis on rice farming, fishery, and sustainable development. Thailand expressed its willingness to share knowledge and experience through projects under the Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA) and proposed an increase in study visits between the public and private sectors of both nations.

Additionally, the Deputy Minister proposed reciprocal support for Thailand's candidacy for the Human Rights Council (HRC) membership and Benin's candidacy for the same term.

The possibility of negotiating a visa exemption agreement for diplomatic and official passport holders was also on the agenda.
