UK and Egypt Forge Pact for Sustainable Cities and Infrastructure Development

The UK and Egypt have inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to deepen collaboration in infrastructure development, signed by His Majesty’s Ambassador to Egypt Gareth Bayley and Deputy Chairman of The New Urban Communities Authority Eng. Amin Ghoneim in Cairo on February 6, 2024.

The pact establishes a joint working group to meet biannually in London and Cairo, facilitating the exchange of technical knowledge and best practices in infrastructure project prioritization, financing, and management. Aimed at bolstering bilateral trade and attracting foreign investment into Egypt's construction sector, the agreement aligns with the UN's sustainable development goals and climate action initiatives, signaling a commitment to a greener, more resilient future.
