UK Launches AI Opportunity Forum to Boost Private Sector Adoption of Artificial Intelligence

A new initiative called the AI Opportunity Forum has been launched in the UK, with the aim of accelerating the adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) in the private sector.

The forum brings together AI companies, business leaders, and government officials to promote the use of AI in businesses, improve productivity, and drive growth in the economy. It will focus on addressing challenges related to AI culture, skills, governance, awareness, and data availability.

Despite the recognition of AI's importance in business, only one in ten organizations in the UK is fully prepared to implement the technology. The forum aims to address this issue by sharing best practices and identifying measures to improve AI readiness.

Members of the forum include major tech companies like Google and Microsoft, as well as representatives from Quantexa, KPMG, Arm, Barclays, Vodafone, Universal Music Group, and GSK. The UK's AI sector already contributes £3.7 billion to the economy and employs 50,000 people, with potential for further growth.

The forum's first meeting is scheduled for February, with subsequent meetings to be held every two months.
